CAROLINA PERFORMING ARTS
Creative Campaign
The Ask: Create a campaign for Carolina Performing Arts that increases student awareness and engagement.
Carolina Performing Arts has been home to some of the world’s top performers, but University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill students are not aware of this and do not feel compelled to attend. My "New Media Technologies and Its Impact on the Future of Advertising, Marketing & PR" class made a campaign surrounding how Carolina Performing Arts could cut through the clutter of other offerings on campus.

Campaign
Art is in everything we do, and how we all perform – whether it is athletic performance, academic performance or arts performances – is unique to who we are and how we exist in the world. It is time to show the UNC student body that Carolina Performing Arts’ mission, shows, and programs are for everyone because art is everything that we do.
Phase 1: Setting the Stage
Phase 2: Dropping the Mic
Phase 2 Experiential
During the week of LDOC (Last day of Classes), hang up four white banners and one white banner with text in front of Memorial Hall to prepare for the UNC Traditional LDOC student-led streaking. In an effort to promote CPA’s involvement, the banners will hint at the event by saying “#IYKYK” and “4/29 12am.” During the night of the streaking, five white banners will sit in the pit or outside Davis Library with a variety of paint buckets and invite streakers to add to the blank banners. Performers will be participating in the painting to make the activation more inviting to students. After the streaking, the banners will be displayed in place of the previously blank banners on Memorial Hall for the following couple weeks. Black lettering saying “We are CPA” will be added to the middle canvas.
Phase 3: The Show Must Go On
Phase 2 Experiential
CPA representatives will be outside of the Student Stores with a sign saying “You’re on Aux.” Students will be invited to use the iPad connected to speakers and play a song of their choosing. When the song starts playing, a UNC dance company performs an improvisational dance created based on the song played by the participant that engages with the iPad. To capture student information, we also recommend requiring students to provide their name and email to participate in this experience.
