The Academy of Integrated Humanities and New Media (AIM) program

I was a part of The Academy of Integrated Humanities and New Media (AIM) program at my high school for my junior and senior years. AIM is an award-winning two-year program consisting of a History class, an English class, and a Documentary/Filmmaking class. We have accelerated learning and learn an entire year's worth of material in half of a semester. In the second half of each semester, we are put into groups of four students and assigned a theme to create a documentary. From there, we are given the creative freedom to select a more specific topic relating to the theme. Responsible time management and collaboration played a crucial role in the making of our documentaries. I was able to express myself through film while exploring large social issues in the Bay Area.
